Advocacy

The US Women’s Caucus advocates for women and girls in the US as well as abroad through our network of activists and NGOs, aiming to include every race, ethnicity, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity, as well as those with disabilities. The Caucus advocates for gender equality and the well-being of women and girls by:

  • contacting US government officials at all levels
  • issuing statements on issues of vital interest to women
  • holding panel discussions for civil society
  • seeking to influence the annual outcome document of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).

The Caucus is committed to supporting legislation to advance the human rights of women and girls of all races, backgrounds, and circumstances residing in the United States at the federal, state, and local levels including:

  • final adoption of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)
  • final ratification of CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women)
  • legislation such as access and affordability of childcare, paid parental leave, and quality medical care for women of all ages, including reproductive and maternal care.

Sexual and Reproductive Rights

Ever since the US Supreme Court overturned the protections of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, the US Women’s Caucus has responded with statements, tweets, and resources. We deplore the Supreme Court’s rollback of women’s human rights and stand in solidarity with women across the US fighting for access to abortion services.
